Salcon wins RM20.6m Water Project in Penang

Salcon Engineering Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Salcon Berhad has received the Letter of Acceptance from Perbadanan Bekalan Air Pulau Pinang (PBA) for construction of water works, Package 11 - 25 million gallon per day(Mgd) Process Unit and Associated Works, Sg. Dua Water Treatment Plant in Pulau Pinang.
The project forms part of the Muda River Water Scheme Phase 4A for augmentation of water supply to Pulau Pinang and Seberang Perai. The main components of the works include chemical mixing chamber, lamella clarifiers consisting of flocculation and settling tanks, filters and filter gallery.

The project is valued at RM20,699,988 and is expected to commence from 1 November 2011 until 31 July 2013 for a duration of twenty-one (21) months.

The scope of the contract includes construction and completion of all civil and building works, M&E works, ancillary works, training of personnel for the operation and maintenance of works, project management including quality assurance and health, safety, security and environmental protection activities.
