Salcon wins the Prestigious Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Award (AREA) for Green Leadership

Salcon through the Salcon River & Water Awareness Educational Programme, was conferred the pretigious Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Award (AREA) in the Green Leadership category for its contribution towards environmental conservation awareness amongst the community.

'The Green Leadership award honours companies which recognize the impact of their business operations to the environment and which actively seek to reduce and reverse the impact,' said Lt. Gen Sudhir Sharma, one of the panel judges of AREA. 'In total, we received over 120 submissions for the various award categories from all across Southeast Asia, and only 21 submissions were selected as winners for this year's programme.'

It is a great honour for us to receive an international recognition for the Salcon River and Water Awareness Educational programme,’ said Dato Eddy Leong Kok Wah, Executive Director of Salcon Berhad.  ‘Educating our younger generation on the value of conserving precious water resources is something very close to our hearts and this award has definitely given us a huge encouragement to continue our efforts in this area.’

The AREA recognizes and honors Asian businesses for championing sustainable and responsible entrepreneurship in 7 different award categories which include social empowerment, investment in people, health promotion, green leadership, corporate governance, SME CSR and responsible business leadership award. The award recipients undergo a stringent selection process by the International Judging Panel, which picks the most outstanding enterprise leaders and gives international recognition for their achievement in promoting the ethic of Corporate Responsibility to the society. Winners of the Green Leadership award category include Toyota Motor Thailand Pte Ltd, Permodalan Nasional Berhad, Thai Wacoal Public Company Ltd, Malakoff Corporation Berhad, Ricoh Asia Pacific Ptd Lte and many more.



Salcon Biggest Loser Contest - Result!

After 98 days of tremendous efforts, 24 participants from Salcon Biggest Loser Contest has achieved excellent result in their quest to slim down via a healthy diet and appropriate exercises. 

The contest started from 9 May - 14 August 2011 where 24 participants formed a team of two each to encourage each other on the weight losing contest. They have proved that nothing is impossible. Their firm determination has helped them further ahead in the battle of losing weight! Congratulations to the top 3 winning teams below!

Salcon Biggest Loser Challenge - 2nd Result

Congratulations to 'Yakin Boleh, 'Butterfly' and 'Sweetie Ladies' for being in the Top 3 for the Salcon Biggest Loser Challenge this month, they have lost 5.5kg, 2.9kg and 1.6kg respectively compared to the first month.

Overall, 7 teams managed to move up from the previous places, whereas 5 teams moved down.

Keep it up! The challenge is going to end next month, let’s see who will be the Salcon Biggest Loser Challenge Top 3 and walk away cash prizes of RM600!!
