Salcon Annual Trip to Phuket & Phi Phi Island, Thailand

Sawadee Krap! (means ‘hello’ or ‘welcome’ in Thailand language) A total of 37 SRC members together with their families had an enjoyable trip in Phuket & Phi Phi Island, Thailand during the SRC annual trip from 23 – 25 September 2011.

Phuket is a nice place with the combination of city life & beautiful beach. We stayed in Patong, a town which is equally famous for its 3.5-kilometer beach that runs the entire length of Patong’s western side as also the nightlife. Nightlife is centered on Bangla Road with many themed bars and discotheques.

We were guided by the local guide Mr. Surasak Sutthikarn to numerous tourist spots in Phuket. We have visited cashew nut factory to see the process of making cashew nut as Phuket is famous for cashew nut production, honey bee shop, gems factory & Wat Chalong, the largest and most famous monastery in Phuket for over a century. One of the temple's halls in Wat Chalong features a gilt-covered statue of Luang Poh Cham and this busy hall also contains statues of Luang Poh Chuang and Luang Poh Gleum, all ex-abbots of the temple.

We enjoyed the view at Prompthep Cape - a favourite vantage point for watching Phuket's spectacular sunsets. No trip to Phuket would be complete without visiting the breathtaking panoramic vista overlooking the southern tip of the island.

At night, we watched Simon Cabaret Show which was full with entertainment! Sitting inside the luxurious theatre with hi-tech sound and lighting system, what we could see is the glamorous and professional performers, extravagant costume and outstanding stage design. You will get confuse as the performers are pretty and sexy, but they are actually men!

Nice islands are always a paradise for nature lover. We had our snorkeling in Phi Phi Island. Clear water, colourful fishes, corals and many kinds of marine life are infront of your eyes! Besides, we also visited to well known Viking Cave where the pre-historical drawings still appeared on the wall & bird’s nest on the top of rock in Viking Cave which is considered to posses a lot of medical value.

It was a truly memorable trip and we all have fun having vacation with colleagues!
