Rat Race a fixture in Salcon’s calendar

It was one big corporate party for 148 teams from 88 companies and 65 corporate leaders sharing the joy of running and cheering in the Edge-Bursa Kuala Lumpur Rat Race on 20 September 2011 (Tuesday).

Salcon is proud to be one of the participants of this gala event for the 3rd year running. Representatives from Salcon – Vanslas Nathan Francis (Proposal Dept), Fun Chee Keong (Project Dept), Chern Meng Gaik (CA Dept) and Tan Ghim Huat (Green Energy Dept) completed the 4.5 km within a time of 45 minutes except for Edwin Raj (Proposal Dept) due to leg injury.

Although Salcon team did not make it to the top ranking, we joined the race with high spirits and good effort, and most importantly, it was a meaningful event where Salcon’s contribution of RM15,000 went towards the less fortunate!

The premise was decorated with multi-hued balloons
Salcon team started to set up its ‘territory’ at around and prepared to cheer Salcon's runners
The Edge-Bursa Rat Race is a race unlike any other in the racing calendar where the participants get to run in their office attire.
Various cheering team used different methods to cheer for their runners and attracted people’s attention such as bagpipe music, drums, lion dance, kompang, whistles, vuvuzelas, which added much merry and cheer to the event.

Salcon sees this participation as an effort to contribute to those in need and less fortunate, we look forward to getting more participation from our employees next year.
