Salcon Biggest Loser Contest - Result!

After 98 days of tremendous efforts, 24 participants from Salcon Biggest Loser Contest has achieved excellent result in their quest to slim down via a healthy diet and appropriate exercises. 

The contest started from 9 May - 14 August 2011 where 24 participants formed a team of two each to encourage each other on the weight losing contest. They have proved that nothing is impossible. Their firm determination has helped them further ahead in the battle of losing weight! Congratulations to the top 3 winning teams below!

Ketupat weaving class

In conjunction with the month of Ramadan, a Ketupat weaving class was organized for staff on 11 August 2011 (Thurs). The class was conducted by Zabedah Mokin (Juz) and staff had fun in learning to do the Ketupat by using ribbon.

Selamat Berbuka Puasa!

As a gift to symbolize the month of sharing and Ramadan celebration of all our Muslim staffs, 252 packs of Juadah Berbuka were given out to all Salcon staff at Salcon HQ and project sites at Seremban. Staff from Kota Bharu & Pintu Geng were treated with Serunding and cake/popiah/curry puff respectively whereas staff from Sandakan and Kota Kinabalu were treated with kenduri at restaurant and KFC respectively.

A total of 50 players participated in the SRC Bowling Tournament 2011 on 30 July 2011 (Saturday) at Sunway Mega Lanes, Sunway Pyramid. The tournament started at 9.00am and ended at 12.30pm.

QA/QC Department - Ensuring the Quality Management System

Quality Assurance/ Quality Control Department (QA/QC) which assists in implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System (ISO9001:2008) in the corporate office and at the project sites.

QA/QC Department is responsible for providing guidance in the form of ISO 9001:2008 Induction Awareness and Quality procedural training, planning Quality activities ensuring compliance to the ISO 9001:2008 requirement, conduct Internal Quality Audits for all departments and project site as well as reviewing internal audit findings and recommendations for improvements to the management systems.

In addition, the department also assists in the implementation, coordination and monitoring of planned quality issues at project sites.QA/QC Department also liaise with certification bodies such as Bureau VERITAS to ensure that Salcon Engineering Berhad comply to the ISO 9001:2008 QMS requirement.

Let’s Cheer for Salcon’s runners


We are calling 10-20 staff to join the Kuala Lumpur Rat Race as the Supporter for the 5 runners who will represent Salcon to complete the 4.5 km on 20 September 2011 (Tue).

Upon registration, the supporter will be given lessons of kompang playing and cheering dance before the event! Come and join us!

Salcon continues support for Negeri Masters 2011 Invitational

In line with the objective of creating a positive impact through social and sporting activities in the communities which Salcon operates in, the company continued its support for the Negeri Masters 2011 Invitational for the fifth consecutive year.
Negeri Masters 2011 Invitational is a prestigious yearly tournament organized by Negeri Sembilan Golf Association at Seremban International Golf Club (SIGC). This year, the exciting championship is scheduled from 7 July 2011 to 10 July 2011.

There are 144 players from the country and overseas invited to participate in the professional golf event which will give away a total of RM500,000 cash prize. Salcon Group supports the event with sponsoring RM100,000 to increase the attractiveness of the prizes.

“It is Salcon Group’s honour to support this event as this is one of the channels we are given an opportunity to provide a platform for the players as well as promote golf activities to a wider audience.” Said Tan Sri Dato’ Tee Tiam Lee, Deputy Chairman of Salcon.

Salcon Biggest Loser Challenge - 2nd Result

Congratulations to 'Yakin Boleh, 'Butterfly' and 'Sweetie Ladies' for being in the Top 3 for the Salcon Biggest Loser Challenge this month, they have lost 5.5kg, 2.9kg and 1.6kg respectively compared to the first month.

Overall, 7 teams managed to move up from the previous places, whereas 5 teams moved down.

Keep it up! The challenge is going to end next month, let’s see who will be the Salcon Biggest Loser Challenge Top 3 and walk away cash prizes of RM600!!
