Also present at the event was Deputy
Director of Pusat Darah Negara (PDN), Dr Afifah bt Hj Hasan who said that, ‘Every
corporation has the responsibility and commitment to give back to the
communities. We are very pleased to work with corporations like Salcon Berhad
in promoting blood donation as a way of giving back to the society.

There are also a prize giving ceremony for Salcon Safety Recognition Award. The winners have been carefully selected by respective inspectors according to all safety criterion specifically in office and at the construction site.
The winner for Best Safety Department is QAQC, Internal Audit and Risk Management, and Safety,Health & Environment departments. Winner received RM 1000 and a trophy.
While the winner for Best Safety Construction site goes to Sungai Dua Water Treatment Plant. They received RM 2000 and a trophy.
Apart from that, there are also a special award, "Excellent Safety Achievement Award" which awarded to Sungai Terip Water Treatment Plant for their excellent compliance in safety for the past few years.
The event continues with 'Guess The Tool' prize giving ceremony to the three (3) winners who get to identify the name of each safety tools and also their functions. This fun and exciting game gave every Salcon's Staff opportunities to test their skill in identifications and knowledge of safety equipment.

Project Pintu Geng and Ms. Cheah You
Thiam from Envitech for winning the First Aid Hamper worth for RM300, RM200
and RM100 respectively.

We would like to thank all the
participants of this contest for their support and time contributed in guessing
the tools. It was indeed an interesting game for bringing the awareness on

The pre-celebration of blood
donor day and free health check–up marks the finale of Salcon’s Safety &
Health Campaign month 2012. The Campaign has received tremendous support from
Government bodies such as Department of Occupational Safety and Health Selangor
Division, Pusat Darah Negara, non-governmental organizations such as Breast
Cancer Welfare Association, Malaysian Council for Obesity Prevention, KL
Laughter Yoga and also private entity such as BP HealthCare.
