Fun Day away from studies for SJKC Sin Ming students at Bukit Kiara

Students from SJKC SinMing rolled up their pants to discover more on Sg Penchala water quality

There is a saying that “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”. Salcon Berhad, through its award winning CSR programme, the Salcon River & Water Awareness Educational programme, injected some fun and play for 40 pupils and 4 teachers from SJKC Sin Ming, Puchong on 24 August 2013 (Sat).

The happy and enthusiastic faces of the primary school children aged between 10-12 years old were evident throughout the 4 hour long programme.  The children gathered at Lembah Kiara Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, a green lung in the heart of the city and conducted hands-on physical and chemical tests on the Sg Penchala river using water monitoring kits.

Madam Lee Luen Lee, teacher of SJKC Sin Ming was happy that the school was invited to join the programme. “This is a very good opportunity for the pupils to truly understand the importance of caring for our river and water. Although the theory has been taught in the classroom, they will get better understanding through this kind of hands-on programme. We believe at the end of the programme, the children have gotten the message of importance of caring for our water resources.”
